Riverhead Correctional Facility & Court Complex

The Riverhead Correctional Facility has a maximum capacity of 840 inmates. It houses minimum, medium, and maximum-security male and female inmates. The facility has linear and podular housing units, a state of the art medical/ dental/ mental health unit, a rehabilitation unit, and a visiting section. The Sheriff’s Office Choose Your Path program is housed at the Riverhead Facility.

The Jail and Court complex chilled water central plant study was performed in 2022 with a conformed chilled water schematic diagrams developed to better assist in improving distribution of chilled water flow among the various buildings through equipment and control upgrades as well re-establishing design flow rates for testing adjusting and balancing efforts.
